Adobe various websites and now seemingly Firefox seem to continually confuse and obscure things regarding the two different Adobe Players (Adobe Flash Player AFP and Adobe Shockwave Player ASP). As compared to Adobe Flash, Shockwave offers more features and more powerful tools, including the ability to incorporate Flash content in its files. Neither of those platforms seemed to be as popular as Flash Player though.
